After a spectacular show at the Bay Music Awards last night at the Eden Arena, 5 nominees walked away with well-deserved awards.

This year’s BMAs event was a stunning success, adding atmosphere to the stage and gearing the large crowd toward standing ovations and jovial cheers. The crowds fervently applauded as the awards were called and beaming winners took the stage to accept the highly regarded honour to be called one of Malta’s best.

The winner of the Best Newcomer saw Airport Impressions enter on stage with an eager acceptance.  Best Dance Tune went to ‘Living in the dark’ by DJ Ruby whilst Best Solo Artist was received by Christabelle whilst the Best Band Award for 2008 was awarded to Salt.  A wild applause went to Ira for her song ‘Idle motion’ who received Best Single.  And as a special award this year, the BMA’s saw the Artists Choice go to Airport Impressions.

The night came to a close with a special ending with Singing for Bay Kids featuring Ray (The Riffs), Daniel (Biiterside), Janice (Salt) and Nick Morales (NoSnow/NoAlps).

Another phenomenal success for the BMA’s followed as Malta’s finest stood proud, happy to represent the talent of the country with the core support of their fans at their heels. 

This year’s BMAs will be screened on TVM next Thursday 18th December at 20:45.
